POPPY PROJECT

Poppy Project

In 2023, All Aboard Palmerston's Beautification Crew unveiled a tribute to commemorate Remembrance Day through it's crocheted Poppy Project in the Palmerston Lions Heritage Park.

Initially aiming for 1,000 poppies over 2-3 years, the community's response exceeded expectations. Thanks to an overwhelming show of support from volunteers, over 2,000 poppies were crocheted between September and November of 2023 alone!

In 2024, the project continued, resulting in a grand total of over 3,500 poppies.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone from Palmerston, Harriston, Minto to Gorrie, Hanover, Fordwich, Teeswater, and Listowel who contributed their time and skill to this meaningful endeavor.

A special acknowledgment goes to the Palmerston Lions for their assistance in adorning the historic Old 81 Train Engine with these beautiful poppies.
